How to stay healthy while sitting a lot at your work place
Most of us sit way too much at work. Some people even spend almost a whole day sitting at their work without standing up and moving at least a little bit from time to time, or most of them do this too rare. That is very bad for your health, and if you want to stay healthy, you should follow some good ideas below about how to stay healthy while sitting a lot at your work.
Some people think that if they workout 3 times a week, it makes all the problems go away with a lot of sitting at work. Well, it is not true at all. Yes, working out 3 times a week is very good, but if you workout let’s say for 1 hour, in total there would be 3 hours of working out weekly. Still even such workouts won’t make a big difference for your health if you’re going to spend the rest of your day sitting at your couch or at work.
In order to be healthy, it is very important to be active often. That means you have to stay active most of the time, not just when you’re working out.
What is active? Don’t sit for too long in one place. Go take a walk every 45-60 minutes or at least stand up and walk a little bit. Sitting all the time for a couple of hours is very bad for your health.
Let’s get to the fact that most of the time it’s easier to say to stay active than actually to do it. Sometimes at work there’s no time to stand up and go for a walk every 45-60 minutes. Yes, that is true, but most of the time you definitely can at least stand up and walk just a little bit. Doesn’t matter if you just walk in your small office. Even 1 minute of walk can make a difference. Or at least stand up and stretch a little bit.
Always remember that there’s always an opportunity to stay active at least for some part of the day. Just use your imagination and be more active!
